Covid Update 23/09/2020

Hi folks. You’ve probably been wondering what is happening with the 2021 Yackandandah Folk Festival. Well, like a lot of other events, we have decided that due to the current restrictions, staging the festival in anything like our normal format will be impossible. The Victorian Government are doing their level best to ease restrictions as soon as possible. However, they cannot predict the date when even regional areas like ours will move into what they refer to as a “Covid Normal” (unrestricted audience numbers) situation. The YFF committee have been exploring several alternative options, including the possibility of staging a “live-streaming” event featuring an all Victorian line up of performers. We continue to work closely with local Government authorities on putting together a viable event. We are hoping to announce a firm decision some time in November this year. Meantime, we’d like to say a big thank you to those ticket holders and event sponsors who have very generously chosen to donate their ticket costs and sponsorship money towards helping us pay some of our ongoing costs. This has in turn allowed us to make supporting payments totalling some $15,000 to those Australian musicians who were booked to play at YFF 2020 as well as all the local area community groups who were set to raise important funds during the festival weekend to help offset some of their respective losses. This was totally unexpected and we are truly humbled by your actions. Please watch this space for further developments as they come to hand. Finally, stay healthy and well and we’ll look forward to seeing you in Yackandandah again very soon.

Best Regards

2021 Festival Update

Hi folks. It’s certainly been been some year so far. At present, the Covid-19 situation still remains a day by day issue for us. At this point in time, we are hoping to stage the festival in 2021 on the usual weekend in March. The dates are Friday the 19th through to Sunday the 21th March 2021 so perhaps pencil these dates in your calendars and keep your fingers crossed. Please stay tuned for further news as it comes to hand as this website will be updated with any forthcoming information as soon as possible.

Also, if anyone has a crystal ball they’re not using which they would be willing to lend to us, please get in touch! Stay safe and keep well everyone

Best Regards

The Yackandandah Folk Festival Committee.

Changes to Licensing Laws

All festival goers please take note: There have been amendments made to the Liquor Licensing Laws in Victoria. The requirement that all children under 18 years of age on licensed premises (Hotels and other licensed venues), must always be in the company of a parent, responsible adult or legal guardian will now be strictly enforced by the Police. There will be appropriate signage at the entrances to venues of this type at the festival. Your cooperation in this matter would be appreciated.
