We are calling for EVERYONE to be involved by making a lantern with artist Vicki Luke and taking part in a celebration of our amazing community. As our goal for the Festival is to reduce waste, this year’s Parade is all about re-using and recycling. The lanterns will be made entirely from 2ltr plastic milk bottles! (And other bits of recycled stuff!).

Waste Reduction

A big focus for the 2017 Festival is waste reduction. Please help us with this goal by bringing your own re-usable water bottles, coffee cups and cloth bags, refusing one-use plastic packaging & bags, and ensuring waste is disposed of in the appropriate bins. Read more about our green initiatives here.

Volunteer

Planning for the 20th Yackandandah Folk Festival in 2017 is well and truly underway and we need your help! If you’d like to volunteer for the festival, please register here or contact Louise Kaye-Smith 02 6027 1742 for more info.

Did you know?

In partnership with Yackandandah Museum we are planning an exhibition celebrating 20 years of the Folk Festival? If you have any hard copy photographs you’d like to share, please drop them into the Museum by Sunday 29 January 2017, where they can be scanned and returned to you. The exhibition will open on Friday 10 March at 6pm, until Monday 17 April 2017.

T-shirt design competition

Congratulations Anna Ross who won the Open Category with her fabulous design. All will be revealed in good time! Unfortunately, the 13 years and under category could not go ahead due to the low number of entries. Many thanks to our judges, Kirsten Coates and Chris McGorlick for their time and creative expertise!
